To Do JusticeTo Love KindnessTo Walk HumblyA study on MicahSurrounded by a world of sin, injustice, and pain, we can feel overwhelmed and disheartened. Life is not what we always desire. Our hearts are continuously captivated by sin, hardship, and despair. But there is a greater force among us, and He is always there to redeem us, guide us, and bring us through these difficult moments.As we dive into the study of the book of Micah, we gain insight to a prophet who approaches boldly addressing sin, the coming judgment of God, and His abundant grace and mercy.Micah proclaims to the people of God how destructive injustice is in their relationships with others and the abomination it is to the eyes of God. He also brings to light the sin of idolatry. When we love anything more than God it has become an idol and dishonors God.IN GOD WE FIND HOPE FOR RESTORATION, HOPE FOR OVERCOMING, AND HOPE FOR CHANGE. A holy God cannot let sin go unpunished. If the people of God do not repent and turn from their evil ways a day of judgment is coming. This, in turn, is also proclaimed to us: the need to turn from our sins and seek after God and His righteousness. Thankfully Micah points us to the hope that is found in God: a God who is rich in mercy and slow to anger. In God we find hope for restoration, hope for overcoming, and hope for change. Only through Him can we accomplish His will for us.So let’s study the book of Micah together and ask the Lord to help us to “do justice, love kindness and walk humbly with our God” (Micah 6:8).
