Ride for Hope: One Woman's 3,527 Mile Solo Bicycle Ride That Inspired the Nation

RIDE for HOPE tells the story of how Tracy Herbert beat all the odds and overcame every obstacle that stood in her way as she completed her solo 3,527-mile bicycle ride from San Francisco to New York City. What do you do when you are faced with the reality of living with an illness that could end your life prematurely? How do you face that and, more importantly, how does it define you? Tracy Herbert wouldn’t allow the terrible diagnosis of diabetes beat her. Instead she fought back and proved that it didn’t have to be the death sentence that was promised. Twenty years of additional life experiences (that she never thought she would have) later and she decided to take on the monumental challenge of cycling from San Francisco to New York City, a distance of more than 3,500 miles. Her RIDE for HOPE started out as a celebration of her own success, but quickly gathered momentum and became much more than that, providing a beacon of hope for countless others who faced similar life challenges.
