The Neuropsychology of Mathematics: An Introduction to the FAM

This book explores how young children learn and acquire basic mathematical skills from a brain-based educational perspective. There is a discussion of three primary ways in which numbers are formatted in the brain, as well as the relationship between anxiety and mathematical performance. Scores of evidence based interventions and targeted strategies are offered as well. Lastly, the Feifer Assessment of Mathematics (FAM) will be introduced to help educators better diagnose and remediate math learning disabilities in children.
