A History of Jewellery 1100-1870

The new edition of Dr. Joan Evan's well-known history of jewellery in Europe from mediaeval times to the mid-19th century, long since recognized as a standard work, has been eagerly awaited. It includes two extra colour plates and sixteen extra pages of black-and-white plates, which among them give a better representation of 19th century jewellery and of jewellery worn by people in portraits, a special feature of the book. The text has been corrected, new locations of pieces have been indicated, and the bibliography has been radically revised, about 150 titles having been added. Illustrated with 192 black-and-white plates and 12 colour plates.
