For her BBC1 television series, Sister Wendy Beckett temporarily left the seclusion of her caravan in the grounds of a Carmelite monastery to visit some of Britain's greatest art treasures. Encompassing her enthusiasm for paintings of all eras, from Van Dyck society portraits to Hockney nudes, her journey took her to stately homes, museums and galleries all over the country.
