The Last of the Summer Wine: A Country Companion

Based on Roy Clarke's comedy scripts for "The Last of the Summer Wine", this is a country companion featuring Compo, Clegg and Foggy. Among its topics are country pursuits (including Compo chasing Nora Batty); a country gentleman's wardrobe (leaning heavily on Compo's attire); rural sports (including racing bulls to field-gates, tossing Compo over hedges, Compo pole-vaulting and a fitness programme devised for himself by Foggy); the chase (escaping from outraged farmers, husbands, Nora Batty and others, and a love poem by Compo to Nora); the traditional country pub (how to get a drink when you're broke); wild flowers (angry women and other plants, and also testing their toxicity on Compo and making wine); and country walks (chiefly concerned with good spots for a snooze). The book also features a series of walks giving a Yorkshire country feel and illustrating the beauty of the region, with a comic map of each route.
