Cold Case: Pathways to Justice

Dedicated to the victims and families of cold cases and written by two criminal justice veterans with over 30 years experience, this publication brings a new perspective to college text books. A poem and a story about the Lindbergh kidnapping begins the journey and it continues page by page with practical investigative techniques, case reviews, quotes and opportunities for students to work on their skills as they complete the course. Experts contributed their knowledge, gave permission for articles to be reprinted and provided proven tips and facts. Parents of homicide victims share their stories and a suspect who was innocent talks about the impact on her life.

The book includes actual Missing Person Posters and unsolved homicide AWIC’s that students can use to highlight the cold cases in their area. A comic book about Amber Hagerman (Amber Alert) is an excellent example of a creative way to keep the cold case in the public eye along with safety tips for children. Other successful projects are also included.
