The Mallen Litter

Concludes the trilogy of novels begun with THE MALLEN STREAK and continued in THE MALLEN GIRL. Set largely in Newcastle and rural Northumberland, it links the England of Victoria with the dark days of the First World War. A chance reference to the triplet sons of Dan and Barbara Bensham as "The Mallen Litter" creates a bitter resentment in Barbara that is to have far reaching consequences. But it is with the younger generation that the resolving of the Mallen destiny finally lies.
