This atlas of world history integrates maps, photographs and text to capture major events in world history and the development of human society in its physical setting. The four major sections are: the ancient world, heirs to the ancient world, the age of European supremacy and the emergence of the modern world. The non-Western world, especially Asia, is also covered.
