Biotechnology is becoming an increasingly important part of many A- and AS-level biology syllabuses as these are rewritten to take account of recent advances in the biological sciences. Although most core texts contain some biotechnology, they do not contain sufficient detail for students specializing in this area at A- and AS-level and there are very few up-to-date textbooks which deal with this subject in more detail.
