[From Introduction] Season's Greetings is a collection of twenty-four American Christmas post cards from the turn of the century. These cards were all published from 1890-1915 at the height of what was then called the "post card craze." Overcoming the objections of post bureaucrats who correctly foresaw a deluge and social arbiters who held stuffy notions about the privacy of the mails, the post card became a major publishing and collecting phenomena. In an era that did not rely on the telephone for communication or the television for entertainment, the post card was used and enjoyed for both.
