Did You Say "Fire"?

Story starts out with Maggie lighting candles for her birthday cake. Mouse sniffs and says, "Fire, fire." Duck races away shouting, "Fire, fire." Characters get upset when they hear these words. The same thing happens with dog, goat, children, fire fighters, police officers. Funny story with basic sight words repeated often. Have to read it to see what happens. First quarter of first grade read level UP.
