A Victorian album: Julia Margaret Cameron and her circle

A Victorian Album is possibly the most beautiful, probably one of the earliest, and certainly the most characteristic of all photographic albums. When it was sold at Sotheby’s in 1974 it obtained a world record price and this book is as close as possible, with the techniques of modern printing, to being a facsimile of a major work of art of the Victorian period.
