TAKE HOME SCIENCE

Take-Home Science is an essential tool for all school communities striving to come to terms with the challenge of providing excellent science and technology programs for children. It provides a series of independent investigations suitable for children aged 7+.
The forty investigations are open-ended and involve children in doing experiments and carrying out investigations themselves. Simple equipment and materials that can easily be located at home and at school are used throughout to encourage children to see technology and science as part of the everyday world they live in.
Procedures are suggested for implementing the total program within individual classrooms or as a take-home program. Teachers are supported with information about the key ideas developed in each investigation and materials needed to stock each activity for class use. The activity sheets outline the purpose of the investigation, what is needed to carry it out, step-by-step instructions and open-ended yet focused questions.
