Handbook of nursing diagnosis, 1989-90
Description:
This quick-reference handbook is designed to provide direction for nursing diagnosis and collaborative problems. The book is divided into two parts, the first presenting definitions, defining characteristics, related factors, outcome criteria and interventions for all nursing diagnoses; and the second containing diagnostic clusters - clinical conditions and the nursing diagnoses and collaborative problems with which they are commonly associated. Many special features have been included in the book to make learning more productive, such as boxed and screened author's notes, which clarify and differentiate diagnoses, and diagnostic clusters, which demonstrate the use of nursing diagnosis in all types of clinical situations and areas. A removable, laminated card at the back of the book lists all nursing diagnoses grouped under functional health patterns. Features new to this edition include: the grouping of interventions according to population; a streamlined introductory section, which offers simpler explanations of how to make a nursing diagnosis and includes a discussion of care paths; and nursing diagnoses which are new since publication of the previous edition.
