It possibly has every criticismmajor or trivial, documented or hearsay, objective or politicalever leveled at the Long Island Lighting Company and its nuclear plant at Shoreham. Grossman starts with the charge, "It can't run anything," referring to Lilco, supplier of gas and electricity to 3 million people. He focuses on the building of Shoreham, a project vastly overrun in cost and schedule. Unfortunately, he gives anti-Lilco testimony extensive and sympathetic coverage while ignoring or ridiculing opposite views (e.g., reports and statements from experts; pro-Shoreham comment in The New York Times and a local educational TV program).
