American Popular Songs

The book covers - in appealing English and discernment - popular songs from the Revolutionary War to the Present (the present in this book was 1965) - there is an alphabetical listing of songs and composers (intermixed) through 468 pages. For me the interest is from 1900 to that 1965 "present." The book is quite comprehensive and put together with discernment and thought. The book also contains special lists including The All Time Hit Parade from 1765 to 1965 and lists of recordings and some performers. There are other books that do this kind of listing, but those I have seen fall far short of the quality of the subject book ( Amazon customer)
