Ten Mile Inn: Mass movement in a Chinese village (The Pantheon Asia library)

The village of Ten Mile Inn, 275 miles SW of Peking, provides the setting in the spring of 1948 for this documentary which graphically depicts the day-to-day evolution of a seven-week long mass campaign. It began with the arrival of a work team which the Communists sent to implement the Agrarian Law, a campaign to redistribute the limited supply of arable land. This method had the support of the people who were encouraged to bring problems into the open and to take part in village government. 291 pages.
