A Knife at the Opera

When he goes to his daughter's school opera performance, Superintendent Bone is plunged into the thick of a murder investigation after Miss Fairlie, a pretty and ambitious young teacher, is found brutally stabbed backstage. Several potential murderers emerge, among them is deputy head, whose job Miss Fairlie coveted openly, and girls who were once teacher's pets but then dropped. All have good reason to wish her dead and are closely questioned until the culprit is finally cornered.
