This is a detailed listing of all fleet and escort destroyers which served in the British and Dominion navies between 1939 and 1945, including those that were cancelled or only projected, together with the 50 old destroyers loaned from the United States Navy in 1940. Special attention is given to wartime alterations which, in British vessels, were extensive and far from uniform within a single class.
