One of the Ballantine Illustrated History of World War II series, this book gives photos and documentation of the Allied forces operations to destroy the German war machine, the economy which fed it, the morale which sustained it, the supplies which nourished it, and the hope of victory that inspired it. To achieve this goal, the Allies had to develop and test the methods of accomplishing this task and build up the necessary forces to implement policies as yet unproven.
