TV producer Kate Wilkinson, heroine of After the Break and The Director's Cut, returns to London to take up an exciting new position on the Food & Health Channel. Shortly afterwards the body of one of her promising young colleagues is found in a canal near her office, an apparent suicide. Laurence Smith was dedicated to his job - but not enough to die for it.
