Besides obvious games like bridge, whist and cribbage, this book includes games of mainly regional popularity that deserve to be more widely played, such as euchre; some of mainly historical popularity that deserve to be rediscovered by each new generation, such as piquet; and one or two "invented" or exotic games worth describing because they offer unusual points of interest, marking them off from the usual run of card games.
