This edition has been revised to take into account legislative changes since 1983 and theoretical developments in the field of disability. Whilst continuing to highlight the negative impact of welfare policy on the lives of disabled people, the book explores how social work can contribute to removing disabling barriers. It also considers the implications that an anti-disablist practice would have for education and training of social workers and the management of welfare agencies.
