On the Road Reluctantly

This text tells of the travels of 40-something feminist Dyan Sheldon and 22-year-old motorcycle courier with a dreadlocked ponytail down to his waist and a ring through his nose, Victor Sanchez. This book recounts how, excited by the possibility of romance and adventure on the trip of their dreams, they both left Brooklyn on a sunny morning in the autumn of 1993 on a 1986 Honda Nighthawk with a Tasmanian Devil airbrushed on its petrol tank. It is the tale of what happens when a heretofore sane and sedentary woman abandons her home, her cat, her friends and her work to journey with a man she scarcely knows to travel for five months across the Americas.
