The Fab British Rock 'N' Roll Invasion of 1964
Description:
Where were you when the Beatles appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show? If you were like millions of other Americans at the time, both the young and the curious, you were glued to your television set and screaming your bloody head off when the mop tops took center stage.
From these hysterical beginnings sprang the gear musical revolution called the British Invasion. Dozens of cheeky and hip long-haired bands from the land of royalty bopped, "Freddie"d, and stomped their way across our shores, bidden by their love of American roots music, and our sudden love of anything British. Here's a pictorial celebration of the Rolling Stones on Hollywood Palace, the Kinks and their fabulous fuzz box guitar sound, and the former High Numbers (guess Who?) as they all made their way across the ocean. The Dave Clark Five were "Glad All Over" to be here, and so were Peter & Gordon, and Gerry and the Pacemakers.
Relive the frenzy of those keen days in the early and mid-sixties, when loud guitars, button-down suits with frilled collars, and mop tops fired the second shot heard 'round the world - it's the fab British Invasion!
