The Sermons of Richard Hooker : A Modern Edition

This is the first edtion of Richard Hooker's sermons in modern English. Hooker (1554-1600) is usually regarded as the founding theologian of the Anglican/Episcopal religious tradition. Many regard him as the closest counterpart in that tradition to Martin Luther for Lutherans or John Calvin for Presbyterians. These sermons reveal a pastoral side to Hooker that is at once wise, inspirational and consoling.
