Employee Development Practice

A thorough critical evaluation of the theory, practice and developments in the field is presented here, within which the functions and activities associated with employee development are identified and explored. The text is divided into three parts: the context, the process and the management of employee development. The first part examines developments in ED, the national context, with international comparisons, and the organisational context. The second part evaluates various models of ED and the analysis, design and implementation of ED activities, including a thorough treatment of learning theory. The third part concentrates on ED policy and resourcing.
