Robert Pollock, was a native of Muirhouse, parish situated about eleven miles south east the city of Glasgow, and was born on the 19th October 1798. Of his father, who was a very worthy and intelligent man, and good far mer, he was the youngest son; and the days of his early life were devoted to such pursuits avocations, as suited his father's interests clinations.
