Purchasing and materials management

Business conditions during the last decade placed as much, if not more, strain and pressure on the purchasing/materials management function as has occurred at any time in the 20th century. Critical material shortages, two-digit inflation, and arbitrary actions by governments seriously interfered with the orderly operation of business and the economy.
