American delinquency: Its meaning and construction (The Dorsey series in sociology)

Students come into the course with a lot of misconceptions about juvenile delinquency. By examining the historical social construction of reality regarding delinquency and childhood, E & S show students that the definition of delinquency is linked to the conception of childhood in a society. The books attempt to identify connections between theory and practice and policy also acquaint students with a variety of explanations and possible solutions.
