The Dalkey Archive

"The Dalkey Archive occupies an intermediate position among the works of Flann O'Brien. The author considered it to be almost a work of science fiction but he show all his powers of comedy as well. Among the 'characters' are St. Augustine, James Joyce, and a man who is in danger of turning into a bicycle. We see here, as well, the published portrait of the mad scientist, who was later to achieve fame as de Selby in the magnificent Third Policemen.
