This travel book combines autobiography, travel, history, politics and philosophy. The Great North Road skirts the northwest border of South Africa, running through Northern Cape Province, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Zambia. The author of this book travelled the length of this historically and symbolically important route to explore the history of colonization.
