Great Rivers of Britain (Rivers and Coasts of Britain)

This textbook looks at six British rivers - the Thames, Severn, Trent, Clyde, Mersey and Tees. The rivers are treated separately, with three spreads devoted to each. One explores the formation and physical features of the river, the second will look at the cultural background - a brief history of the river and the human settlements along its banks, and the last will examine the role of the river today and how it may develop in the future.
