Shen Pu-Hai: A Chinese Political Philosopher of the Fourth Century B. C.

In this volume, Herrlee G. Creel presents a rediscovered political philosophy which was misunderstood and almost unknown for two thousand years. It is well known that Confucianism furnished the spirit which animated the Chinese governmental pattern that persisted until 1911. Professor Creel suggests that the forgotten philosophy of Shen Pu-hai played an equally important role in developing the functional and structural organization of that government.
