Evangelization and Culture

Aylward Shorter argues that if the evangelism of culture is to be taken seriously, it must lead to the model of a culturally polycentric Church, and to a paradigm of mission which is no longer centred on Europe. It must also lead to a "new evangelism" which does not dominate or alienate others culturally but which loves and respects others in their difference. Aylward Shorter is an anthropologist and a priest of the order of the Missionaries of Africa.
