The Professional Counselor: A Process Guide to Helping (4th Edition)

A textbook that Hackney (Syracuse U.) and Cormier (West Virginia U.) have revised from earlier editions between 1987 and 1996 to reflect changes both in the profession and in society as a whole. They explain the structure of counseling as stage-driven, survey types of counseling intervention, and describe the process of termination and follow-up from the context of client welfare. A new chapter on counseling clients in crisis replaces one on unique situations. The appended Code of Ethics of the American Counseling Association, which is now readily available on line, has been replaced by sample forms, outlines, and checklists. Annotation c.
