The fourth edition has been thoroughly revised and updated to take account of all the recent case law relating to the Human Rights Act 1998, and the Freedom of Information Act 2000. The final chapter has been rewritten to summarise the impact of the Human Rights Act in the time since it was
enacted. The influence of European law is shown in many areas throughout the text by the inclusion of case law from not only domestic courts but also from the ECHR.
The new edition also includes new sections on the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act in Chapter 4, Entry Search and Seizure, new coverage of the new Criminal Justice and Police Powers Act 2001, more on deportation and asylum in Chapter 9, as well as coverage of the changes in detention.
