Growth Triangles in Asia: A New Approach to Regional Economic Cooperation

Growth triangles, a form of regional economic cooperation that has gained rapid acceptance in Asia during the past decade, bring together the resources of three countries to foster economic development among them. Focusing on three triangles--in southern China, on the borders of Singapore, Indonesia, and Malaysia, and in the Tumen River Delta on China's northeast border--the papers in this collection define, explore, and debate the issues surrounding the establishment of such entities and make predictions about their potential for success.
