Foundations for Australian Political Analysis: Politics and Authority

Outlining a theoretical approach for analyzing political life and applying this approach to Australian politics and government, this study discusses a fundamental question in the liberal theory of politics: what are the capacities and limitations of authority that enable it to contribute to the diverse values of individual people? In his exposition, Kemp probes such topics as leadership, private property, national identity, trade unionism, constitutional change, political conflict, and the movement toward smaller government.
