Drug Use in Australia: A Harm Minimisation Approach

Who does not take drugs? Most people drink a little alcohol, puff on tobacco and drink a cup of tea or coffee. Drugs are with us everyday yet discussions about them are fraught with common misunderstandings and myths. This book looks at the social history of drug use, relating how they have been seen in the USA, UK and Australia in the last 200 years. The bio-social and cultural context of drug use is outlined. It also covers the various ways in which a harm minimisation approach can be used in responding to drug use.
