A Haunted Year

'Come here, George,' she called.'I want you here. Please, George, Come.' And the ghost came. Whenever she asked him, he always appeared at once, smiling and quiet, eager to play. In the early days, he usually came when called. Florence never asked him where he came from or went to; it was enough that she had a companion to play with all through the holidays. But the time came when George appeared when Florence did not call him. And the time came when Goerge would not go away but kept on coming, all through a haunted year...
