Lives On The Line: Women and Ecology On A Pacifc Atoll

Intended as a supplement to women's studies, human ecology, medical anthropology, or Pacific anthropology courses. LIVES ON THE LINE examines women's issues in Butaritari, an equatorial Pacific atoll 15 kilometers long and a few hundred meters wide. This case study shows how the constraints of ecology and teh contingencies of history weave through patterns of human activity on Butaritari Atoll.
