The Emigrants I and II

Karl Oskar Nilsson is unable to prosper as a farmer on this father's land in Sweden despite his will and determination. His brother Robert has read that in America the people have freedom and plenty, so in 1850 the families set sail for the land of milk and honey. (Unto a good land) : Arriving in New York, the Nilssons begin their search for land and the fulfilment of the dreams. But they have yet to discover the new and unexpected dangers that they have never known before: drought, locusts and cholera as well as the troubles they hoped to leave behind--proverty and hunger.
