Greeks

This personal travel book looks at Greece and the Greeks, ranging through history and politics. It is also an exploration of contemporary Greece, a picture of a changed society since the last generation. The essentials of language, landscape and culture are still present and the traditional patterns of Greek life in the family and community in many ways remain constant throughout the years of social change. The book explores this interaction between past and present, and try to see what faces the Greek people in the future, as their country faces the 1990s with some economic and social problems.
