A Story of Deep Delight (Contemporary American Fiction)

This novel is the story of a place, of how a place came to be what it is, some of the people who live there, how they became who they were, and how we are joined to the past and to our unknown neighbors. The place is a small tennessee town not swallowed up by today's memphis- the story is of three yougn men growing up, each at different historical moments, a story that would relate the transformation of landscape at the same time as the transformation of character.
