Politics and Society in the Third World provides an introduction to the Third a World, its political institutions and issues of social and economic development. The approach is interdisciplinary, and the book based around the twin themes of 'environment' and 'development'. Topic coverage is broad, starting with a definition of the Third World and moving through social, economic and cultural contexts to political institutions, political participation and policy issues.
