The author and his wife decided to explore New Zealand on horseback and, at the same time, to support the charity, "Riding for the Disabled". On one level, an account of a ride through farmlands, forests and landscapes, this is also a book which searches for a deeper truth. New Zealand is on the ecological and social frontline - her land is young and fragile, her crops threatened by pests, and her political equilibrium jolted by economic crises and problems such as the Maori question.
