The authors elected to assemble a volume of the edited type in which acknowledged experts in the major areas of psychological assessment were asked to contribute chapters. Their intention was to go well beyond the traditional borders of psychological testing. In doing so, they included the more traditional areas of intelligence, personality, achievement, aptitude, and interest testing but have also added extensive sections on interviewing, behavioral and neuropsychological assessment, and the practical application of such assessment.
