The Social Work Experience: An Introduction to the Profession

This text is designed for an introductory course in social work. Its case studies help students understand the wide variety of tasks and roles involved in the profession of generalist social work practice. All case studies are taken from the authors' own experiences, and they are designed to help students connect practical material with theoretical content. The author has attempted to integrate the common themes of generalist practice, social research, ethics and values and human diversity in each chapter.
